Dr. Jennifer Stewart currently practices as an optometrist/partner at Norwalk Eye Care (www.norwalkeyecare.com) in Norwalk, CT. She is originally from the Hudson Valley, NY, and received her Bachelor of Science from Marist College. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA.
Dr. Stewart has served as a consultant to the Worldwide Performance Vision Council, a group of doctors dedicated to developing new methods of testing and training athletes, most recently Olympic athletes. She has had the opportunity to work with athletes from the Miami Dolphins NFL team, the US Olympic Track and Field team, the NY Knicks basketball team, the Danbury Westerners minor league baseball team, various Boston College athletic teams, and Special Olympic athletes. She also participates in a nationwide team of doctors specializing in sports and performance vision and training.
Dr. Stewart is a member of many professional organizations including the American Optometric Association and the Connecticut Association of Optometrists. She has been a contributor to Optometric Office, Optometry Times, Fast OD, Vision Care Product News and Optometric Management. Her work has also been featured in New OD, Contact Lens Spectrum and Women in Optometry.
Dr. Stewart is a former Division I track and field athlete and still holds two college records. She is also an active triathlete and runner.
